Clinical Architecture is pleased to announce that Carol Macumber, MS, PMP, FAMIA, Executive Vice President of Client Services, has been elected the Chair-Elect of the Board of Directors of Health Level Seven (HL7). A seasoned leader in health informatics, Carol’s expertise in healthcare interoperability and clinical data management will serve her well as she prepares to lead the global organization.
With her extensive background in healthcare information standards and project management, Carol has long been an active contributor to HL7’s initiatives. Carol currently serves as a co-chair of the Terminology Infrastructure Work Group and the Terminology Services Management Group. At Clinical Architecture, she has played a key role in fostering innovation in healthcare data quality and interoperability, and her new role at HL7 marks an elevation of her leadership within the organization. This expanded position will allow her to further advance efforts to improve how healthcare systems exchange and manage data, ultimately enhancing patient care.
In her role as Chair-Elect, Carol will work closely with the current Chair and Directors in 2025 to support the ongoing development and implementation of important health information standards. Carol will serve as the Chair in 2026 and 2027. Her leadership will contribute to HL7’s efforts to guide the future of healthcare interoperability.
