Allscripts Selects Symedical Server for Advanced Terminology Management; ICD-10 and Meaningful Use Implementation

August 13, 2012

Carmel, IN (August 13, 2012) – Clinical Architecture announces Allscripts, a global provider of Electronic Health Records and other technologies essential to creating a Connected Community of Health™, has selected Symedical® Server, a next generation knowledge management system and integrated terminology framework to address the clinical terminology needs of its entire product suite.

Clinical Architecture worked with Allscripts to deliver a single, elegant and user-friendly solution that would enable Allscripts applications to implement, maintain and distribute clinical terminologies. Allscripts selected Symedical Server based on the product’s technical sophistication, terminology automation and run-time performance. In addition to its interface terminology, ICD-10 and Meaningful Use value sets, Allscripts is also taking advantage of how Symedical Server “understands” terminologies to deliver advanced search capabilities through the use of the product’s run-time services (APIs).

“Allscripts is dedicated to ensuring clients have the best solution for today’s requirements and the flexibility to quickly respond to tomorrow’s challenges,” said Charlie Harp, CEO for Clinical Architecture. “Allscripts sees the importance of clinical terminology when it comes to a meaningful user experience, enhanced interoperability and smart electronic medical records. Our goal with Symedical Server is to deliver all of the functionality necessary for a healthcare solution provider to cope with the complexity of clinical terminologies.  By leveraging our comprehensive terminology framework, our clients can focus their development resources on other mission critical business drivers.”
