I realize that is has been awhile since I posted something on the blog. The reason is a good one… we have been really busy here at CA. Despite all of the activity, we are planning on increasing our educational activities here both “internally” (to our fantastic clients and partners) and externally to the casual blog reader.
There will be a number of press releases hitting the news soon but for my loyal readers (both of you) I thought I would provide a sneak peek on a few items.
I am very pleased to announce that we have added Shaun Shakib to the Clinical Architecture team. Shaun comes to us with years of experience in the trenches and excellent credentials. He is one of the unsung heroes in healthcare IT with brains, formal informatics training, experience and humility (perhaps not after reading this blog entry). He has already made a difference here at CA and I am excited to see what we will be able to accomplish with him on the team.
I also want to announce that we have officially launched Clinical Architecture Limited in the United Kingdom. This new unit will enhance CAs ability to support and service the UK and the entire European, Middle East and African corridor. The Managing Director of CA LTD is another amazing resource in our space, Andrew Frangleton. I had the great privilege and pleasure of working with Andrew when I was the CTO of First DataBank in the US and he was the Head of Technology for First DataBank in the UK. Andrew was most recently with United Business Media in a strategic role over global content initiatives and brings with him a ton of practical experience, standards involvement, terminology knowhow and international savvy. When we decided to expand our presence beyond the US we did not do so lightly. We wanted to make sure that if we were going to do it that we would do it properly. Adding world class informatics resources like Shaun and Andrew to our existing team of phenomenal people will enable us to do just that.
I will be asking both Shaun and Andrew to add their wisdom and experience to the CA blog as we move forward. Hopefully, between the three of us, we will be able to provide more frequent posts.
On a different note, one of the things we have hear all the time after giving demos of our Symedical product is “Why have I never heard of you guys?” To help rectify that we have decided to become a platinum sponsor on the popular HIStalk blog. We are doing some pretty cool things and have some pretty amazing partners and want to make sure that people know about it. We could not think of a better place to strut our stuff than HIStalk. In the next few days you should see our introduction there including a little video we put together with a rant about Healthcare Terminology. We are also going to give away a Microsoft Surface Pro for the best Healthcare Terminology “Dream” or “Nightmare” story.
There will be more exciting news coming out soon but this is all you get for now.
Thanks again for reading.
